CURRENT MISSION To meet interesting travel buddies and gain new perspectives on the world. ABOUT ME i grew up in a tiny town in North Lousiana, moved to Pennsylvania for a few months and hated it, and then headed to NYC where I resided for a decade. These days I'm living in Charleston, SC (technically across the Cooper River in Mt. Pleasant) with my fiance and my step-daughter. We're planning to move to Miami Beach in the summer of 2015. PHILOSOPHY Be cool to me, and I'll be cool to you.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I used to host at my apartment in Brooklyn, and I still surf quite a bit. These days, it's harder to host surfers, but if we can finagle it, we will. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I've met so many awesome people through the CS community, and will hopefully continue to do so.
Music, Movies, and Books
I've recently been on a Pete Hamill kick as of late. I'm also a big fan of historical fiction. And noir. I love the back and forth choppy dialogue of Raymond Chandler. I also read G.K. Chesterton and Jerome K. Jerome for the first time this year, and I'm hooked. I'm completely addicted to 90's dance music - the worse, the better (think La Bouche and Black Box). I also love 90s alt, electric lounge - basically anything that could pass for club or lounge music in the 90's.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I spent a day horseback riding through the Icelandic countryside. And then clubbing with some executive from Travelocity. It was a weird day.
Teach, Learn, Share
I work in marketing now (specially content marketing), but I started in the publishing industry in NYC and occasionally freelance for a few magazines and online publications. I can teach you how to edit a story, write a query letter for a magazine, and other things publishing related.
My Interests
Modern dance, writing, hiking, historical fiction, trying different foods, mindless television, terrible 90's dance music, documentaries.
