Why I'm on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I don't mind staying in cheap motels/hotels. I would even prefer a hostel so I can converse with other travelers. But I feel best by putting forth an at first awkward hand out to my fellow/fella couchsurfing local/host. I feel a much better connection to the place/culture of where I'm visiting.

One Amazing Thing I've Done
Lots of Ah-Ha moments.... I was sitting/reading completely alone on a beach in Garza, Costa Rica I look up and watch a family of 3 wild horses approach me. Within a few feet in front of me Papa Horse falls to the sand and rolls back and forth on his back while Mama and colt keep trotting ahead. Papa stands up, stares at me, says a couple of departing words and gallops to catch up with his family. Amazing. Caught a 162lb. wahoo completely by myself. Whew! Ask me about spending the day in a Mexican Jail!

Wilderness hiking/backpacking. Skiing, scuba, snorkeling, animals, new agey metaphysical stuff, sailing, Native American drumming circles, 4-wheeling, biking, fishing, kayaking, reading trade journals, wine/beer/champagne tasting, flying, golfing, poker, card/board games, snow-mobiling/machine, messy and spicy food and oh but of course TRAVELING every which way I can. Knitting/crocheting. Beginner strummer. Would like to take up x-country skiing and try dog sledding.
