About Me

Hello,

I'm a sociable dude and somewhat introverted - I'm a deep thinker so I like to discuss topics and ideas in depth. I love to travel (obviously, why the hell would i be on this website). Travelling has opened my mind to so many ways of living and thinking and being. There's no better feeling than grabbing my backpack and heading to a new place, leaving work and all I know behind, and experiencing my mind enter a new space. I just quit my job and haven't found a replacement yet so I'm planning to visit some couchsurfers in the meantime.

I have a great sense of humour, but I'm funniest when I'm not trying to be (aren't we all?)

I've always been into music - techno, metal, classical, video game and movie soundtracks, various other random bits and bobs here and there Dolly Parton, Japanese pop punk... I was a classically trained pianist and saxophonist and fairly good. I stopped playing classical and started writing heavy drum n bass and dubstep on the computer. Then started mixing techno with some DJ decks.

I love learning languages. I love learning anything really, I'm a natural academic which suited me well in my school years but now I need to make money to live and that's a bit different. Been doing my best to find a job I like but struggling. Keep forgetting who I am when I'm stuck in an office. Look around me when sitting at my desk and don't understand how other people seem to be OK with sitting there tapping away like that. Trying to work it out, so I left.

I went on a 10-day Vipassana meditation retreat in Barcelona a couple of years ago and that was enlightening..... man.....

I'm into kettlebell training and calisthenics. I do like a bit of weightlifting too, deadlifts are enjoyable. Hillwakling is great once it's over, I could never understand people actually enjoying the feeling of walking up a hill when your legs start to burn but hey everyone's different I much prefer when you get home and feel good about yourself than the hike itself. But I do like to push myself when it comes to exercise, I've always been fit and lean.

Other things that come to mind: language exchanges, Muay Thai (but I hurt my knee now :( ), tennis, philosophy, video games (FPS), shuffle dancing, sweet potato pancakes, meditation.

Teach, Learn, Share

Any interest in learning about combat sports would be well-received, particularly about Muay Thai (I can teach you some if you'd like :)

I guess my French is at a level where I am worth practicing with for beginner and intermediate...

Fitness; a know a few things. Same with diet and peak performance...

I want to know things I don't know I don't know.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Great sense of humour.
Glasgow is my favourite city in Scotland. Having lived there for 5 years I hope I can share with you a bit of the personality of Glasgow.

I could teach you some muay thai or MMA/Brazilian Jiu Jitsu if you fancy (I'm a peaceful person but I really love combat sports). I can also teach you some things about the culture of Muay Thai.

I can play any game/sport you want - im open to all.

If you don't know much about meditation or lucid dreaming / dream yoga be my guest happy to teach.
