About Me

I'm currently living in the Limousin region of France where I work as an English teacher at a local university. Originally from the UK, I have spent the past few years living in various cities throughout Europe where I've been fortunate enough to make some wonderful friends and have some incredible experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I love to travel! The desire and need to travel is a huge part of who I am as an individual and I strongly believe that the opportunity to explore new cultures and experiences enriches you as a person in a way that little else can. What's more, I am increasingly coming to appreciate that these experiences are even more valuable when shared with friends - be it friends who you've known for years or friends you hadn't previously met.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE & PHILOSOPHY

I'm fairly new to Couchsurfing, although I am a relatively experienced traveller. Therefore, I see this as an excellent way to explore new horizons, meet new people and welcome others to the place I call home, all whilst respecting the local cultures and the environments in which we live.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music

R.E.M., The Stone Roses, Editors, The Smiths, José González, Arctic Monkeys, Depeche Mode, New Order, Stereophonics, & The Vaccines among others. Although my taste might appear narrow, I love being introduced to new genres / artists, so I'm all ears!

Film:

Wim Wenders, Martin Scorsese, Oliver Stone, Quentin Tarantino, Danny Boyle, Anton Corbijn, Stanley Kubrick. Also, anything starring Robin Williams, Al Pacino or Jodie Foster is usually up there.

Books:

Sebastian Faulks, Aravind Adiga, Paulo Coelho, & Francoise Sagan for fiction. Michael Palin's travel writing is pretty good and almost nothing beats Roald Dahl's classics.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Anything from a chat whilst walking around the city / region, to an impromptu English lesson over a drink or some food.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In
