I love to accept challenges and step out of my comfort zone, because I believe that's the best way to learn. The latest challenge in my life has been working in a school with kids who have learning and behaviour difficulties. During these two years I have become more confident and understanding and simply learned so much from my students. My friends always say that I smile a lot and I guess that's true, because why not? There is always something good to take from each situation. At first when I meet someone new it might take some time for me to open up but once I feel accepted I like to be silly and joke around. Everybody here says that they are easy-going and open and I guess I am no exception. But really try to go with the flow and adapt quickly to any situation, at least so far in my life :) --- This year I became a mentor for an European volounteer from Portugal who works in Latvia. I nejoy participating in non-formal education activities. In future I will definately try EVS for myself. --- Right now I have set myself a goal to go to at least 3 new places each year. I will end this rant about myself, hope I painted a small picture for you about myself.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I have couchsurfed only once in Hungary with my friend and she organized everything. I thought this would be a great opportunity for me to try it as I am going on my first solo travel. I enjoyed it the first time and hope to have great CS experience also in future. I feel like when travelling and staying with locals gives you real taste of local cultrue compared to staying in hotels where everyting feels artificial. I often have guests in my house (not CS but regular tourists) so I understand how important it is to be respectful to the hosts.

One of my favourtie things to do is hiking in mountains. Each summer I go with my friends on a week long hiking trips to Tatry mountains just to have some adventures. As a typical Latvian I also dance folk dances. I have participated in 2 Song and Dance festivals in Latvia (google it - it's spectacular). Recently I started wakeboarding, trying to learn some cool stuff. Slowly getting there.
