About Me

Hello fellow world citizens!

As a facilitator, coach and community developer...my work and my personal life align with what matters most to me. I am someone who loves connecting with people, the arts and community. I enjoy nature, especially canoe tripping. I enjoy sharing simple food and great conversation. I seldom avoid an opportunity to sing and play music with others. Though the guitar is where I started, ukulele has really captured my attention lately. I think the portability is a huge plus as is its demure, unpretentious nature. Not sure I can always bring mine along...but usually someone has one I could borrow, right?

I love where I live (in a barn I renovated - with loads of help!) and I love the business and community I've created. Living in these pastoral hills and close to a wonderfully vibrant, creative community has not encouraged a lot of desire to leave. When you come here you'll see what I mean.

However...as I get closer to the ripe age of 60 some new desires are creeping in. Along with offsetting my carbon footprint, I believe it may be time to offset my sticking-close-to-home identity that I've been living the last few years. I have travelled in Africa, Europe and Canada and other places years ago. It just might be time to try these places again...and new ones. BC last December and The Netherlands is next in late April, early May (2018) and I have my sights on New Zealand sometime in the next few years.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have just started to consider reclaiming my 'traveller' identity again. I've most loved my travels when I meet and spend time with people from that area. I hosted a couchsurfer for 3 days many years ago. She happened to be a musician from the Netherlands. Now I plan to visit her on this trip...and we might even play some songs together! (I would sure love to play at some open mics or kitchen parties!)

In turn, I enjoy hosting people here too. It's another way of travelling without going anywhere. And it puts good energy into our world, a wonderful balancing offer.

An of course being thrifty is another reason why I am on couchsurfing.

If you could host me I would be delighted to give you your privacy...or would enjoy spending some fun time together... perhaps share a few of my songs with you or get a sing-along started. Or play with words or crayons together. I lead writing groups here.

I am amazed how art making connects us to ourselves and each other. I'm ok with that not being your cup of tea too...I enjoy red wine and even water! :)
