About Me

CURRENT MISSION

1. Create amazing memories and find new friends all over the world.
2. Manage school, work, friends and travelling at the same time.

ABOUT ME

I'm pretty shy when I meet new people. I don't talk all that much, but it is one of my goals of life to learn to communicate with ease and engage people in interesting conversations. I guess it's just a skill I will have to work on.
I am currently long ways away from my family and it's been tough, not gonna lie. The experience I get in return is totally worth it though.

I love taking photos and testing my boundaries, challenging myself. Art is a big part of my life and the more I'm in the community the more I love it. Lots of my ideas and concepts are derived from my interest and participation in Amnesty International and other human (and animal) rights. I'm not a political nut-job, but I like to think that I can make a difference for someone. I enjoy volunteering and helping out other people.

If I could, I would live without social media sites and technology, but as it happens both of these things are what keeps me in touch with my friends and family. Although since moving to Canada, I have established a good ongoing communication with everyone through letter writing. Yes, I write long letters by hand and mail them. I also love receiving them. No text message can give the thrill of anticipation and smile on my face like an actual letter in my mailbox.

I am a little on the weird side, like all artist are, but at least I try to contain it for the well being of others around me. (That is, when I'm not with my friends)

PHILOSOPHY

If I want so achieve something in life, I just have to go and do it, because there won't be anyone else who will do that for me. Has worked for me over and over again. Can't fight the truth.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I fully support this amazing invention! Right now I surf (when I can), but one day I would like to host someone too. Unfortunately with my living conditions it's not that easy. But one day I will start doing this on regular basis. I would love to meet all kinds of people with their stories.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have stayed with a couple people so far and I must say those were one of the best experiences. We are still in touch and talk once in a while. I have nothing but good things to say. And, of course, a huge "thank you" to everyone who is so kind to host someone. It's really something.

Interests

I'm an avid reader and art junkie. I love everything about art - galleries, receptions, people, making it, admiring it, buying it...name it. And whenever possible I read something other than textbooks, they are one of the sources of my ideas for projects.
I love listening to music, especially when I work. In summer I try to walk and bike everywhere I can. My favorite physical activities are hiking, kayaking, canoeing, yoga.
I love to watch a good movie once in a while. And go see theater play or enjoy nice local concert in a bar.
I love baking! Honestly, it's like an addiction. My friends can vouch for that. They can't get enough of my cupcakes and other pastries.
There probably is more...but I can't think of any. The rest of my interests come and go depending on my mood and latest obsession.
TRAVELLING! Can't forget that.

Music, Movies, and Books

Given choice I would listen to jazz/blues and oldies. Rockabilly and Classic rock. Folk music sometimes is ok. I really want to get turntable and start my own vinyl plate collection.
When I'm editing photos I usually listen to electronic music and remixes, but nothing that will blow my brain out. Club music isn't really for me.

For movies I can watch almost anything as long as it's good. I love French movies! Haven't found one that I din't like yet. Harry Potter, Superhero movies, and many more.

I used to read things that I am kind of reluctant to talk about now but hey! I was a teenage girl once so no judgement. Now I try to read mostly books on certain issues, African literature is one of my latest interest, graphic novels, some Stephen King or classics. If it's good I will give it a shot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Decided to pack my whole life in 2 bags and move to different country to start a new life in country that's across the ocean with no family. Been pretty great so far, I think I will keep on doing this.

Update: I'm doing it again! Don't know where I'm going yet but I am on my way!
