CURRENT MISSION
To explore the world!
ABOUT ME
Just a college kid on a budget and looking for adventure! I aspire to explore the globe, meet lovely people, and immerse myself in the culture of a city that's not mine. Oh - and eat. I want to eat my way through the entire world. :)
I have a little space on the internet here: http://lookingforlinda.com/

PHILOSOPHY
Climb the mountain not to plant your flag, but to embrace the challenge, enjoy the air and behold the view. Climb it so you can see the world, not so the world can see you. Go to Paris to be in Paris, not to cross it off your list and congratulate yourself for being worldly. Exercise free will and creative, independent thought not for the satisfactions they will bring you, but for the good they will do others, the rest of the 6.8 billion-and those who will follow them. And then you too will discover the great and curious truth of the human experience is that selflessness is the best thing you can do for yourself.
- David McCullough
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I just moved into a new place in Toronto, so I'm very interested in lending a helping hand to anyone that needs it - whether that means potentially hosting, or just grabbing a beer. I love to learn new things from different cultures. I believe couchsurfing is a culture exchange, and not just where you get free accommodation. So please write "#HardcoreFlower" in your couchrequest just so I know you read my profile :) Please don't send me a request more than two weeks in advance because I'll have no idea whether or not I will be busy. I love food, so all I ask if you surf with me is to share with me a home-cooked meal from wherever you're from. I'd love to learn how to cook international things!
Looking forward to paying good deeds forward.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed my first time in New York City during New Years 2014. I was really fortunate to have a fantastic host that gave me a great taste of the couchsurfing culture (Thanks Ray!) I've been couchsurfing ever since then, and really looking forward to hosting people in Toronto.
I'm still young and crazy, so definitely want to keep surfing and keep living :)
Interests
Exploration is my hobby. I love the outdoors - embracing mother nature makes me feel so alive! I enjoy hiking, skiing, partying, drinking, fishing, eating, and a fast-paced lifestyle. Music is also a huge passion of mine - I play the piano (let's be real, which Asian doesn't) and I've been picking up guitar for the past month. I also love to sing; my biggest fan is probably the shower that hears me sing in it every day! I'm also a little nerdy ... I'd like to say it's curiosity - sounds kinda weird but learning things is the equivalent to a shopping spree ... except for my brain haha.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love fiction books! If you have a used/old book that you can part with, I would be eternally grateful. :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Scaled random mountains in Salt Lake City, Utah by hopping through waist high grasslands and through what I believe to be a dude's backyard
- Road tripped the East Coast of Canada
- Experienced a pretty nasty hangover on a long flight (not recommended)
- Climbed the Sydney Harbour bridge
- Trekked the ten hour hike to Trolltunga, Norway (one of the beautiful sights I've ever seen)
- Camped by the Glacier lagoon in Iceland
Teach, Learn, Share
Cool facts that I know (many of which is from Reddit):
Cleopatra was alive closer to the Moon landing than she was to the construction of the great pyramids.
From when it was discovered to when it was declassified as a planet, Pluto did not make a full orbit around the sun.
Carrots were originally purple.
A lovely quote that made me think:
“What if a demon were to creep after you one night, in your loneliest loneliness, and say, 'This life which you live must be lived by you once again and innumerable times more; and every pain and joy and thought and sigh must come again to you, all in the same sequence. The eternal hourglass will again and again be turned and you with it, dust of the dust!' Would you throw yourself down and gnash your teeth and curse that demon? Or would you answer, 'Never have I heard anything more divine'? ”

What I Can Share with Hosts
Some laughter and some good conversation :)
