ABOUT ME...
Known as the 5th month of the year (Mai), spending her twenties with studying the world through the glasses of physics. But since one year I got my degree and did some internships in the area of politics and software development.
Over the years, I have learned to love camping under the stars and going on hiking holidays in the Alps with friends. I am a very sociable person and love socialising. Sometimes I'm full of energy and adventurous and at other times I like to take it easy and watch people for hours from the window of a café with a book in my hand. Wherever I go, I try to make the best of the situation and friends like to call me a "survivalist" who finds a pragmatic solution in every situation. I am very considerate and think along with others about how tasks can best be mastered so that everyone feels comfortable.
I spent the last few years in my physics bachelor's degree trying to understand the world a little better. Along the way, I got involved in activist groups, including climate activism and anti-racism groups. Together with friends, I founded a collective called "Meltingpot Collective", which is an association of people who experience anti-Asian racism. Above all, we strengthen empowerment awareness, organise networking events and get involved in local politics.
Otherwise, I clear my head by swimming and playing basketball. I have a great love for cooking and enjoy sharing one or other Vietnamese dish with my host, which my parents taught me, or preparing the best pancakes. I'm currently trying to get back into drawing and experimenting with different typographies. I also enjoy exchanging ideas and discussing all kinds of topics.
I'm one of the kind, who appreciate the most, the small things in our world/ life (which are also the ones that makes me the most happy). Currently trying to live more aware about my consumption behaviour & living a minimalistic life & questioning the heteronormativity. I love to discuss things and try to understand and grasp the values of my conversation partners.
And especially through traveling you meet sometimes the most interesting people, sometimes just for an hours, a day or maybe a lifetime after staying in touch.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Since I lived for one year abroad, I really started loving to meet international people because you can always learn something out of every conversation & personal view. That is why a friend recommended me this community, also because she had a lot go good experiences with this platform.
