About Me

I walked out of my job, gave notice to my landlord and after 12 years in Ireland I am moving back to my old hometown to start over again.
I am taking my time driving through France and Belgium.
According to google it should take me 11 hours to drive it, but I am planning on being on the road for around a week.

I'll be moving in with me grandmother, but once I get my own apartment I will start hosting again, as I love meeting new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the idea of getting away from the tourist "traps" and finding hidden gems.
I like meeting new people and learn from different cultures, how they live and what their average day looks like.
Hotels are all same and bore me.
Hostels are great to meet fellow travelers, yet I won't be able to experience the local life that way.

Interests

Being active means a lot to me.
I love cycling, running, hiking or even just walking along the beach.
I try to eat fresh and healthy but unfortunately I have a sweet tooth.

Another interest apart from travelling is music.
I don't play an instrument yet, but I like concerts and discovering new musicians.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: It's impossible to name a favorite. I love songs with great, witty lyrics. I am the average Radio listener but I also love country music, folk and blue grass.
I have been to a lot of concerts and can't get enough of them.

Movies: The Perfect Storm. No idea why, but I just love that movie. I do prefer to watch a documentary but I am also a Cartoon fan.

Books: Again no favorite really . I usually buy a book in the charity shop, read it and pass it on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Running my first Half Marathon in Dublin was incredible.

Cycling 100km in a cycling event in Waterford and not being last through the finishing line.

(First Duathlonecoming up soon)

I jumped out of a plane once and found it quiet boring after the free fall....

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching and Learning is a ever undergoing progress.
Unfortunately I let it slip out of my life for a bit but now I am hungry to catch up on everything.

Culture and Life Experience exchanges are not only conversations but also tools to change/ improve one's own life. I believe if you travel the world you should be open minded and respectful of others people way of living.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can't sing or play an instrument but I can share a bottle of wine with my host.
I can help you with the housework and I can (try) cook you something typical Irish or German :-)

Countries I’ve Visited

Czech Republic, England, France, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Spain
