About Me

Moving this to the top
PS: Couchsurfing is NOT a dating site. Any stupid requests of such nature will be ignored. I DO NOT host people who do not contribute to the community. Eg. not hosting. Ignore this, sent a request to get your request declined faster than saying :"Mac and Cheese!"

Couchsurfing IS NOT a free alternative to hostels.

I currently live in Brighton in a small apartment so maximum I can only host 2.

CURRENT MISSION

Meeting great minds, and keep on learning from the wise and knowledgeable.

ABOUT ME

I'm pretty new to Couch Surfing, but I think this is an awesome project. Whoever thought about it is a genius, simply cause - what's a better way to know a country well other than staying with a local??

Grew up in Singapore, at the age of 21, stayed in Shanghai for 6 months and realised damn, I really love staying alone abroad.
So by a real good chance, I got a (fricken wicked) job, and here I am living life in U.K :)

I'm more of a workaholic than I would admit to, but I am not sure it's cause of the nature of my work (being away from family etc.) but all's good. I wouldn't change this career path that I have taken for the past 2 years for sure.

Hope to know more friends in the countries I move to, so we can hang out and do stupid things together xD
I'm quite a jeans and tee's person, I dont take myself seriously, dance to "We dont speak Americano" & "Call Me Maybe" on the streets, loves adventure and I live by the mission - Never try, Never Know. :)

I am a very direct person, and it's all nature than nurture. (Hey I'm an Aries, what do you expect!!) I can talk to you about most things under the sun, but politics and religion are definitely not my expertise. :p

PHILOSOPHY

Never try, Never Know.

Life is not about making the most money.
Life is about making the most memorable experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

Shutter island is a better movie than Inception!
Horror shows like Saw/Hostel are my kind of thing, but I stopped watching them now that I live alone.

Music - R&B and Hip Hop is totally my scene. Kpop is good too(seriously), it´s my guilty pleasure - you should try it. ;) Currently though, I am exploring other kinds of music like Minimal Electro and Dance Music.

Books - I never had the patience/time to finish reading a story book. The last was Harry Potter V during my Uni days. I prefer self-improvement books, though I think their effect is more Placebo than real. And comeon, how many of us out there really applies the suggested methods in the book?

Last book read is 50 Shades of Grey (DONT JUDGE ME), but it was nothing short of a let down. Bleah.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving wasnt as scary as i expected.
Half of the time I was fiddling with the goggles.. LOL

I had an arm surgery without taking painkillers. Don't believe in pills that much (solves the symptoms but not the root), but in retrospect - this was a stupid decision. Of course it will hurt like SHIT cause it's a god damn bone surgery!

I was on the streets of Milan when there was this amazing violinist who started playing. I was never big on street arts, but this guy was.. amazing at what he did. I emptied my pockets to this guy (OK granted, it was only around 4 Euros :p).

Livin around the world is an amazing experience at 22. I have met amazing people on my travels and I continue to be inspired by these people. I hope I can do so to some people as well :)

Meeting alternative people who love their life/job. It is a very liberating experience you know!

Teach, Learn, Share

Happiness is a choice, the world doesnt stop spinning cause u're sad. So be happy!
I trip, I get myself up, and continue skipping on the streets xD

I continue to be inspired by people I meet on CS - be it the world traveller who travels without money, the super generous host who has love for all his/her guest or the avid world cycler who goes around on bike.

Keep an open mind - you never know who/what you can learn from.

Even the homeless person on the street has a good story to tell so - buy him/her a meal (I am sure u can afford it!)
