Overview
About Me
I was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and then moved to Winnipeg, Canada to further my education at the age of 18. I graduated with a BA in Theatre & Film and Rhetoric & Communications (double major). I've also since become a Canadian permanent resident. I'm back in KL visiting family for about a year or so, and I'm using part of that free time to travel around the globe as well. I'll probably head back to Canada in late 2017 or early 2018. I'm a bit of an introvert and I value alone time, but when I'm traveling I come out of my shell much, much more and I'm more interested in meeting and getting to know people. I'm usually up for an adventure and I highly value new and unique travel experiences.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm hoping to make the most out of my travels, and I think the way to do that is to meet and befriend as many folks as possible. I believe in the power of networking and bartering (exchange) for travel accommodations and experiences. I also think Couchsurfing will help me a lot during my travels and I'm excited to find out how (besides the obvious ways) this autumn of 2016.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I love anything with a good beat, catchy melody and/or meaningful lyrics. I'm really into watching and listening to live musical performances.
Movies: I watch a lot of movies (and television), and could offer interesting and meaningful discussions about this type of media in general. I like a good scare and often seek out horror films/television shows - bonus points if it's sci-fi horror! (Event Horizon, anyone?)
Books: I find that I love reading historical fiction and non-fiction. I also really enjoy sci-fi and fantasy books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One favourite amazing thing I've done is live-action roleplayed (LARP) with 140 other people in a castle in Poland. We pretended to be wizards attending college in a castle (a la Harry Potter & Co., except as adults instead of teenagers) for four days and three nights in November 2015. Since then, I've been hooked on larping and will be attending at least two more events in Europe this autumn of 2016. I've attended three LARP events since November 2015, all of which have been related to wizard college. (I promise I'm branching out soon!)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can absolutely help around the house with any kinds of chores (cooking, cleaning, pet caring, etc.). I would also love to contribute towards buying groceries or anything else that would help with hosting my stay. I'm always up for good conversations and friendly debates on a variety of topics. If you're hoping to practice your English (or Malay!), I can definitely help with that too. I'm currently not hosting, but if you want to visit Malaysia in 2017 you should totally shoot me a message and we'll work something out. If you want to know more about larping, I can help with that as well!
