About Me
CURRENT MISSION
After two years abroad, Josh and I are preparing for our next adventure: grad school.
ABOUT ME
Josh and I are both 25-year-old college graduates who want to see a bit of the world. We didn't have grand plans or goals for our international excursions. Mostly, we wanted to soak up living somewhere new. Now, we're soaking up family and familiar places stateside before starting graduate school up north.
We like books, moderate drinking, and food.
We got married in August 2008 and left for Prague a week later. We liked teaching English and weren't ready to go back home yet, so we decided to try another year abroad in South Korea. Now, we're in a sleepy Florida town called Gainesville to relax with family and friends before heading north for graduate school.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Honestly, I just joined this group after it was heartily recommended by some friends who enjoyed hosting people. We want to be hospitable and think this is a great idea, so we're just trying it out. It has been a great way to get connected to all different kinds of people so far.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We've had some amazing CouchSurfing experiences, including a family in India who helped me take care of Josh after he got terribly sick. They let us stay for several extra days as he recuperated, sharing stories and cooking us excellent home-made food.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, Apocalypse Now, Away We Go, There Will Be Blood, Fargo, Mulholland Drive, Stranger Than Fiction, as just a sampling.
Music: Ryan Adams, Radiohead, Fiona Apple, Mates of State, Elliott Smith, Mason Jennings, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and others.
Books: Josh's and my taste diverge slightly here. I like books by Joan Didion, John Updike, Spencer, and P.G. Wodehouse. Josh likes more academic fare and Martin Amis, Saul Bellow and Philip Roth.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The first thing that comes to mind, while maybe more mundane than some of my other experiences, is when the thick Michigan ice broke on the Cass River and started to flow downstream. My brother, my grandparents, my dad and I stood on a railroad bridge and watched the ice crash into each other, the bridge and the bank and it shuttled down the river. I'll never forget feeling like bridge was moving like a lumbering cruise ship through the ice islands.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have some editing and writing skills.
Josh is a good cook and exegete.
