About Me

Hi ! I am currently living in Billom, a small medieval town near Clermont-Ferrand in the middle of the volcanos.
I like meeting all sorts of different people, discovering places nearby and elsewhere, trying out new things... I am an easy-going, curious and down-to-earth person. I really enjoy listening to people talking about what they are interested in, whatever that is.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have surfed a few couches in Europe : it made me want to do it again and to become a host too. I do not only support couch-surfing as a nice way of meeting people, but also politically as a free way of travelling (something that is important to me is : don't believe that you can't travel if you don't have money, of course you can. I hate feeling like money is ruling our lives : poor people can also have fun and see the world).

Interests

I used to be a student in literature, philosophy and ethics.
I am also interested in arts, particularly in what could be called modest art, people doing stuff with no need for a museum to approve of it.
I love music, I try to discover new bands or new kinds of music from everywhere. I used to organize lots of concerts in different places in Brussels - a little less now that I am back to Auvergne (but there is still a lot going on around here).
I used to work at a vegetable garden in Belgium, and I love learning about plants (how to grow things, or getting to know wild plants...)
I support the DIY idea in general.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite novels may be Molloy by Beckett, La Vie est ailleurs by Kundera and The Dharma Bums by Kerouac - for the rest, it's too difficult to decide.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my favorite things in the world - and why I find it so amazing is a bit inexpressible because it is quite ordinary - is hiking and camping in the Pyrenees. Simple pleasures.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn anything you can teach me : speaking all kinds of languages, growing plants, playing music, fixing a car, learning your favourite poem, constructing a computer, knitting a pull-over, surviving in the jungle...

And I would be happy to teach you anything I know.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can definitely share meals and drinks (such a good part of the day), take you to a concert, walk around in the hills...
