About Me
/ ! \ Important to read before sending me a message / ! \
I receive a lot of requests, and I can't answer them all. If you want an answer, please send me a personalized message (as my friend Noël taught me, if you can replace my name by any other name, this is NOT a personalized message) showing that you're at least interested in reading my profile (I promise there won't be any exam at the end ;) ). Especially if you have no or few opinion on the site! I won't be answering any more impersonal messages, just asking for accommodation - I get too many of them. Thank you !
And please read the part about "my home", it's full of important information to know before writing to me!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's the most difficult part to fill in...
I work as a general practitioner in the Rhône-Alpes region. But it's reducing to describe myself just with my job !
I am also involved in various associations that work to promote sustainable food and global health (in particular l'Alliance Santé Planétaire - https://santeplanetaire.org/).
I am vegetarian since 2014, and I feel good :). I've discovered so many tasty alternatives to meat and fish. One amazing thing I've done !! And I try (and love) to cook vegan as much as possible.
The easiest way to describe me will be to ask my friends :)
I like so much things in the life that it will be too difficult to sum up them... But in few words, I like to meet people, to learn language and culture, to see the world... In other words, to share.
PHILOSOPHY
Enjoy your life... and share it !
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Few for the moment, as couchsurfer or host, but very good ones :)
Interests
My main hobby is life, but, in any order : meet people, travel, go to the cinema, write letter at the other end of the world, but above all read letter from the other end of the world, speak on the way to save humanity right in the middle of the night, write articles, listen to people telling their life, skiing in every part of the world where there is snow, travelling by bicycle, hiking and climbing (and if possible, all this with bike first - bicycle/climbing, bicycle/skiing, bicycle/whatever ! - just to avoid using a car), cooking vegetarian or vegan recipes, and above all that, running after time to do all my hobbies...
I recently started to draw, and I love it too ! One passion more :)
The vegetable garden is also one of my current hobbies !
Music, Movies, and Books
Everything, if I get time to watch / listen / read ...
In particular movies in original version, no matter the subject, with or without subtitles. I love movies, in fact.
My favourite one, for the moment, is still The Lord of the Rings. I love too all the books of Antonio Damazio, in particular "La Horde du Contrevent".
Concerning music, after about ten listening, I like everything, most of the time.
And I love reading, too. It is just a problem of lack of time. But I can find some time for Tolkien's book :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My inscription on CouchSurfing, without any doubt ! :)
And my first travel by bike around Slovenia, Croatia and Italy !
Also my first experience of bike/skiing with some friends !
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach how to repair a computer or a phone (to a certain extent), how to not sleep during 72h, how to protect the earth, show you that the vegetarian (and vegan) food isn't just dry tofu or vegetables without taste, how to make a journal for student, and so many fascinating things, really !
And some basic things about repairing a bicycle and travel with it !
And I can teach you how to do compost at home, and then reduce your waste and help the earth :)
I want to learn how to speak Spanish, Japanese, English (to write my description in correct english..), Italian, Chinese, Esperanto ... to be able to communicate with every people in the world, how to be comfortable in every situation, with everyone, in every time, how to extend a day until 72 hours, in order to do all I wanted to do and all I wanted to learn, and how to coach my brain to remember all I learn. Huge programme, isn't ?
What I Can Share with Hosts
Je serai heureux de partager un repas avec vous, de cuisiner ensemble, d'apprendre de nouvelles recettes (végétariennes ou veganes !). Partager signifie pour moi un apport réciproque :) (formulé autrement : ma maison n'est pas un hôtel gratuit en pension complète !)
***
NB : mes différentes passions et activités professionnelles m'occupent pas mal en ce moment donc je ne serai pas forcément très disponible pour me balader avec vous et vous faire découvrir Lyon, mais je serai ravis de vous partager les endroits que j'aime (et notamment les adresses de restaurants - scoop : principalement végétariens - que j'aime le plus !)
***
I'll be happy to share a meal with you, to cook together, to learn new recipes (vegetarian or vegan!). For me, sharing means a reciprocal contribution :) ( in other words: my house is not a free hotel with all-inclusive meals!)
NB: my various hobbies and professional activities are keeping me pretty busy at the moment, so I won't necessarily be very available to walk around with you and help you discover Lyon, but I'd be delighted to share with you the places I love (and in particular the restaurant addresses - scoop: mainly vegetarian - that I love the most!)
