About Me

**ANNOYING/UPSETTING FULL DISCLOSURE**

I CAN MOSTLY HOST WOMEN FOR THE TIME BEING. Sorry :(

-----

I'm a mix of nonsense, carelessness, a collection of paradoxes, confusion, procrastination, sarcasm, non-sociopathic nihilism, simplicity, complexity, passion, empathy, sympathy, open-mindness, easy-goingness, humor, awkwardness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here because I'm cheap. And broke.

No but really, all jokes aside (although it is true if I have to be honest), I actually started travelling for the cities' easthetics. Now I travel for the people I meet on the road (I know, so cliché) and find myself way too many times highly disrespecting my initial plans because, well, cool people always appear when you're about to leave. But getting to know new people, having interesting conversations and sharing special moments with strangers is one of the things I love the most, so it's all good. You learn from every new person you meet and humans are very sociable creatures, I feel like couchsurfing and any network based on helping eachother is what life should be all about.

Interests

I love to discover new bands, songs, artists, in almost any type of music. I also love food (vegetarian and exploring vegan food right now). One of my favorite things to do is questionning/deconstructing norms and pushing boundaries.

I love finding spontaneous, raw, strong connexions (with people I mean, but also applies to wifi abroad come to think of it) and meeting people with who (whom? I never know) you can connect with as soon as you meet them and don't feel pressured to hide your quirky side or everything that's unusual. I like unusual people, naturally.

I like to talk without shame about whatever is considered negative in our society and give it as much visibility as the "acceptable stuff" gets. Imperfections, that's what makes us human. It's my way to balance things out in the occidental society that always seeks for perfection and performance, always trying to hide the bad sides of everything.

I'm still trying to figure out how I could live a life in which I don't have enough time to work, but right now I'm kind of enjoying this whole «having a roof and not starving to death» bourgeois thing. So sadly most of my interests are still waiting to be developped. In an ideal world I would like to explore photography, learn a few languages, learn to draw, travel, study philosophy/sociology/anthropology, read more, learn more.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Radiohead, Beirut, Stromae, Flume, Massive Attack, Foals, Canadian Indie music (Arcade Fire, Half Moon Run, Kandle, Grimes), CocoRosie, Gorillaz, The Internet, Sigur Ros, Kaytranada, Oasis, The Kooks, Muse, Nirvana, Woodkid, Moderat, Modest Mouse, Gramatik, The Geek X Vrv, The Neighbourhood, The XX, Kavinsky, Ratatat, The Dears, The Do, Sia, Chet Faker, Crystal Castles, Ibrahim Maalouf, Metronomy... and you know, other stuff.

Books: I have read such a shamefully low amount of books so far (blame it on neoliberalism and this society of performance) but a few of my favorites would be: L'étranger d'Albert Camus. Le Grand Cahier d'Agota Kristof. Incendies, Wajdi Mouawad, 1984. George Orwell. Brave New World, Aldous Huxley. More global reading from Diogène de Sinope, Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir.

Movies: It goes from the Moulin Rouge, Amélie, La Vie d'Adèle, Requiem for a Dream to superhero movies. And I sense I shouldn't like the last ones as much as I do.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Define amazing and I'll try to answer.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been hosted by such beautiful and generous souls while I was wandering in Europe. Now that I'm back in my lovely city I'd love to give back to the community and give a hand to the other wandering souls so that they can live similar spirit-healing experiences
:)
