-they 'll never forget how you made them feel !
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I try daily to:
-encourage multi-cultural understanding and acceptance;
-share travel experiences with others & encourage them to "take the leap" & experience the joy of discovery that travel offers;
-break down negative myths, stereotypes, bigotry and racism;
-leave a smile on someone's face every day & feel good about being me;
-not be quite as big a jerk tomorrow.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
CouchSurfing: While living in Jamaica, Malaysia & the NWT over 30 + years we hosted several dozen very different back packers, VW Westy voyagers, round-the-world travelers & general "lost souls" from 1 night to a week with a bed, shower, food and drink, laundry & lively travel stories & generally a place to hang their hats & recharge batteries.
We have hosted many international musicians who came north to participate in Folk Festivals.
Long Term Hosting: While living in Canada's far north we hosted 16 International students, each for a complete school year - sometimes 2 at a time. - the ultimate hosting commitment and experience.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've seen my daughter stretch and yawn 3 minutes after birth.
Teach, Learn, Share
Expose those around me to the joy and fulfillment that international travel offers. Encourage them to shut their eyes and take a big step - it is good for the soul.
Learn to be a better, more credible advocate for multiculturalism. Benefit from the experiences of others and show by example.
Western society has it all wrong. It is NOT the one with the most toys at his death who wins. It IS the one who has touched and positively influenced the most hearts and souls who wins - the one who shares the most and leaves a tiny bit of him/her self with every one they meet!
