About Me

Traveller in life trying to live it to the fullest by enjoying and appreciating the very simple things life has to offer.
------------------------------------------

Travelling alone, finding peace of mind and finding myself. Reflecting life. Re-humanising myself and other people around me. Combining hostel, couchsurfing, and airbnb, meeting new friends, exploring culture, local food, local coffee, entertainment, and music. Depending on the kindness of local people I've never met before. Alive. Live. Love. Listening to other peoples' stories. Shivers. Heart beating. Compassion. Make me wanna cry. Being grateful of all that I have and all the opportunities that I've got. Enjoying new adventures, simple things in life, and some short night sleeps. A lot of healthy walk. Taking rest only when needed. Doing good to my own body and mind. (Morning coffee at Tim Hortons in Ottawa, August 21, 2015)

-----------------------------------------

Originally from Indonesia, has been living and working in the Netherlands for the past 9 years.

New to CS as I was travelling in Canada!

I'm pretty laid back, clean, very respectful, considerate, and open minded. I do expect the same things from my guests. I tend to become an observer where there are too many people around, but I do enjoy good companion and conversation with depth as well as having fun!
At its moment I love to cook, bake, and sport. Used to be serious guy due to my background, but can be talkative as well when I meet the right people!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Want to learn the daily life and culture of the local people when I'm travelling as well as make a chain of new friendships around the world!
Hopefully can travel together as well since lately I always travel alone!
I'm not a "pick a spot - take a picture - then leave" type of traveller. I want to enjoy and learn other cultures, open mind, and get adventures by meeting people with the same interests.

Music, Movies, and Books

I tend to collect books instead of really reading them..
Books and movies/series that have depth and teach about psychology and life lesson attract me a lot.
Books, e.g. Atlas Shrugged, Doctors, Daring Greatly, but also something like Percy Jackson and Bitter Sixteen.
Movies/series e.g.Shawshank Redemption, Curious case of Benjamin Button, Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, Suits, Fringe.
but also into science fiction.

For music, I enjoy from something like this:

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

... still thinking about it ...

does did a PhD count? I survived and I didn't go mad, at least it's something lol.

am I a geek? maybe. but I'm not a nerd ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

In a world who always says to each other "just be yourself" but keep judging you for whatever you are and whatever you do, I keep learning myself in the recent years not to judge. Everybody has their own reason to do and act about something and to be something. Maybe not important to yourself but significant for the others. Not always easy when you have your own idealism, but hey nobody's perfect. I'm still learning and doing my best.

"We love seeing raw truth and openness in other people, but we're afraid to let them see it in us"
"Vulnerability is courage in you but and inadequacy in me"

(Brene Brown).
