About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live happily, travel to many places to learn and share good stories.

ABOUT ME
I love adventures and am open to new things, new friends. Please read my story below:

I was born and raised in Saigon, Vietnam. I hadn't had the chance to travel much in my first 23 years. But during those 23 years, I watched tons of traveling shows on TV, discovery channel, animal planets, etc. These shows have built a strong love of traveling in me - so much that I started to self-learn English.

After I got my first job in a small international IT company in Vietnam, I saved up and had small solo trips to Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, and Cambodia. During these trips, I felt the connections and human interactions between people from different cultures were something so special and the experiences made me feel so great, that they inspired me to go further and learn more.

Since I found out about CS, I have realized there are so many people having the same ideas/perspective about our world, and I am very excited to share the opportunity to meet and build great friendships with you all! 🥰🌈

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
OK, these are my best stories of my CS exp. Are you ready?

1 - Johannes. In 2013, I started using CS for the first time, and the very first guest I hosted is Johannes from Germany. He told me he only wanted to stay at my place for only 3 days. He ended up staying with me for over a week because we got along so well and are like best friends now. He then traveled 3 months around Vietnam and Laos. AND NOW he is married to one of my best girlfriends in 2018 - what are the odds right travelers!?

2 -
Sean. I did not talk to Sean ever before we met in person. My friends are the ones contacted him to host for a night. As soon as I met him I look at him and said 'Sean, you are gonna take care of us right?' - and he laughed so hard. I felt like we built trust right there on the street just under his apartment in Bangkok :) We spent time having at bars, enjoying food, developing friendships that night. And then a year after, Sean traveled to Vietnam randomly, I took one week of my work just to travel with him to Dalat, Vietnam. Oh well, we had a blast there. At midnight we ventured to 2 of the most notorious haunted house of the town...and that is another long story.
12 years later, we met again in Montreal and had a blast spending 10 days exploring the city together. True friendship never dies! 🫶

I like to take a stroll around my city parks at night, or biking outside just to watch people and their simple happiness:

Just by watching them, I feel joy.

Music, Movies, and Books

Video games (Elder Scroll series, Mass Effect, Dead Space, Mario, Zelda, etc...)
I do not have much time to play anymore :) but
I have a Switch to bring with me during my travel.

Into almost all kind of music and I like to move my feet. Oh yeah, take me to a dance floor!

Open to all kind of movies. I especially love sci-fi, fantasy, thriller, documentaries, and
science channels like Animal Planet, Discovery, National Geographic.

Best movie I recently watched: Mirage - Durante La Tormenta (it is a Spanish movie - as I am learning Spanish).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed to the top of the highest mountain of South East Vietnam in the middle of the night. Stayed there all night watching the glimpse of the full moon behind a foggy sky and talking to friends without any sleep. We did not bring a tent or any blankets either. Yes, we were so stupid! We did not plan for this trip or any part of it. But anyway, that made a good memory that lasts forever.
The conversation before the trip was:
- Hey, want to go for a road trip?
Me: When?
- Right now!!!
Me: Are you crazy!?
- Do you want to go or NO??
Me: Absolutely yes, I will pack my stuff right after work. Meet you in an hour!
- .......(I did not expect that) Yeah sounds good!
- Happy ending -
