About Me

Hello. :)
My name is Lucia.

I moved to Zagreb not long ago, after spending some years in the Netherlands and Germany. I'm still new to the city so I'm looking forward to exploring it more.

I joined Couchsurfing seven years ago, while still living in Croatia. I started hosting people and I LOVED IT! I met so many wonderful people, with many of them I am still in touch, and some of them became my good friends.

I love cooking, and one of my favourite things to do with people is cooking together and learning about food from their countries. Also, I do not consume any animal products. Keep it animal friendly if you're staying with me ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I discovered Couchsurfing years ago and I instantly fell in love with the idea. I am here because I believe traveling is 100% more fun when shared with others. When I travel I enjoy seeing how the town breaths, what locals like to do, I like to visit small places, where there is less tourists and more locals.

The thing I like the most is spreading that awesome sense of sharing. Doesn't matter if you're traveling on the budget or you just love this kind of adventure better than a fancy hotel, there is beautiful feeling that we all share what we have. I am so proud to be part of this community. One of the best feeling is being able to help people and make them feel like home when they are far away from their own.

Music, Movies, and Books

I started this thing when I was hosting people in Croatia and I asked every person that came to my home to write a list of music that they love. It was a nice memory for me, and also awesome way to discover new music. I would always ask for at least one artist from their home country as well. So I am hoping to continue that tradition with music as well with movies and books!
I will gladly share mine. But that's something we can talk about when we meet!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I would definitely say moving to the Netherlands. I didn't knew anybody there, I just decided I want to go and I left my home a month after making a decision without thinking twice. It was the first time I lived outside my home country. And I can surely say I regret nothing and I recommend it to everyone to try it at least once in your life, even if its only for a month.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Croatian language - or at least some words!

I love board games! We can play some that I have or you can show me some of yours. I once made a card game after couchsurfers showed me their game. We can also be creative with that!

I love to cook vegan food! Lets exchange recipes!

I want to learn about different cultures, I love when I have a feeling I have already been somewhere from the stories people tell me! Relaxed evenings with a beer and a good conversation are my favourite kind of evenings.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Positive energy! :D
If I am traveling I am trying to bring some candy from my country or something similar.

I love to spend my time with the host, but I am aware that it is not always possible. If you have time-that is great! If not, I respect that. I had experiences while hosting and being hosted when our paths were just so different. Still, I loved the short time I spent with people.
