About Me

Hey people!!! I'm a Brazilian student, currently having the fortune to live in Venezia due to my university exchange. And it is being awesome! Easy going, vegan if that makes any difference, and trying to experience as much as I can in life, and learn from all that I experience. No judgement. Be good and do good. Ok, I'll stop.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First of all, and It can be my personal opinion of course, but couchsurfing IS NOT A DATING APP! I don't use it this way, but I realized it's so convenient for the ones who use, so I just ask for clear communication, please! I think this way we can avoid any awkward situation :) I think this app is genial, I've made some good friends, met places I would never ever meet, traveled together and had awesome experiences. And I'm still not broke! Hahah traveling is so awesome everybody should have to opportunity to do it, despite of money or any obstacle, could it be language, culture, religion. There is so much to learn from the different :)

HOSTING
it's been almost an year that I left my house and started a trip, and now unfortunately I can't host in Venice because it's against the rules of my dorm and the security is strict (trust me, I've tried). BUT my parents house in Piracicaba is always opened to receive surfers, and you will stay where it used to be my lovely bedroom. That's all the connection that would be between us, but my family in Brasil is big and I'm sure you'll have fun. I'm not sure why the well a surfer would go to Piracicaba, but you never know....

SURFING
In fact, that has been the only role I've played here so far (apart from using it to meet people). In the beginning of this year (2017) I made a five months trip all by myself, I had some great hosts that made my experience even better. I still use it to travel, I think it's the best way to really get to meet a place, and I have no frills, literally sleep anywhere. I realized I have already talked about surfing in some other topics, so keep reading! Hahahah

Interests

I'm interested in learning and practicing alternative and sustainable ways of living. There's still a lot to learn and improve related to that.
I love nature and to be surrounded by it, hiking, camping, going to desert beaches... I guess that's my fave type of trip :)
I like doing sports, specially running, yoga and meditation. Back home I play in the university soccer team and I love it!
I'm mostly vegan, which means that I try to keep up as much as I can with it while traveling, but if I really want to try something new I allow me to do that (no meat). I like cooking and learning new recipes too!
I like partying sometimes, drinking sometimes, dancing of course...

Music, Movies, and Books

Music could be everything, depending on mood and situation. I like to get to hear new stuff as well! From MPB (popular Brazilian music) to Brazilian rap, like Criolo and Karol Conká, electronic, specially house music, some reggae, indie, jazz and some pop. And the acoustic versions, they are always the best ones for me. Jack Johnson, Perotá Chingò, Alt J, Black Keys, SOJA, Jason Mraz, Amy Winehouse... Music is just so good and brings so many memories.
About movies, I like specially dramas, mindfuck movies, classics, and the beautiful ones with a nice photography. And documentaries of course!!!! Mainly the ones about history, or nature. Although, I haven't been able to watch many movies because I always fall asleep in the middle hahah my sister will kill me someday because of that. Series I can only follow if they have around two seasons, more than that start to be toooo much for me. The last ones I have (kind of) followed were sense8, black mirror, strange things and sons of anarchy (but no more than the third season, of course).
Books, the past years I have read just the ones about economics, to university, or some related to that, about statistics in real life facts, and politics too. I feel it's a shame and I'm willing to change that hahah

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Related to trips, I believe staying in the middle of the Amazon, surrounded by the forest for a couple of days was pretty amazing. Hitchhiking and camping around Morocco with CS friends was amazing as well.
Apart from that, I've been cutting and donating my hair for a while, putting together it would add up to 1meter of hair, and I keep rising the length :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe that there is always something to learn from any situation, good or not so good ones.
I'm very curious and I really like to hear about people's country, history, habits, and everything that's different from mine. I'm also into learning new languages, so some new words and useful sentences are always welcomed :)
Likewise, I know a lot about Brasil and love to share what I know! I love my country, I know there's a lot to improve, but I also think, because of distance maybe, people have some preconceptions that are not always right, or at least can be discussed. It's not all about football and samba!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my curiosity, my experiences, my time and company. I know a lot about Brasil and I can recommend some stunning places if you ever think about traveling there (YOU SHOULD!) Usually I don't make a lot of plans before going somewhere, so I'm always opened to suggestions and happy to follow the host in some adventure or whatsoever. (But I also can do my stuff and don't bother if that's convenient :) oh, and I can cook!! Good simple vegan food, and some Brazilian awesome typical dishes as well.
