To enjoy my retirement via pursuit of hobbies, travel, long naps and shared experiences with friends and family.

ABOUT ME

Retired a few years ago and still adapting to the lifestyle. That is, adjusting to less money! Haven't been able to travel much yet. Dream trip is a U.S. rail pass and about three months to leisurely hop on and off. It would be nice to have couches waiting in destinations served by Amtrak.

PHILOSOPHY

Maybe, "Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. My Myers Briggs type is ISTJ, which can tell people what drives me at a core level.

I read -- mostly murder mysteries. Watch all the cop shows on TV, several Sci Fi series, medical shows like Dr G, Untold Stories of the OR, Medical Mysteries. Don't often watch movies or listen to music. Will occasionally attend a bluegrass, celtic, or jazz concert by local musicians or rent a DVD of a well-rated new release.

A forest after a heavy rainfall. Mystical. Standing atop a tower in an amusement park while fireworks exploded around me. Wading in a creek, alone in the woods, near dusk, before a deer noticed me. Sublimely quiet and serene. Camping below Cumberland Falls and seeing the moonbow.

Hmmm. My husband owns and manages a bookstore and is active in local government. We buy and renovate historic homes. I've been an active volunteer in the community, holding offices and often writing/producing newsletters.
