My name is Maciek. I’m from Poland. My true love is music in any possible form. I spend most of my money and free time on festivals and concerts all around the world. I can’t imagine a world without music and my passion slowly changing into my carrier. Right now I am hosting a couple of broadcasts in local radio station.

Together with my friend Kamil we are hosting a show that is called around the world, where we talk about different cultures and music from all over the world. He is also my travel partner and we are going through Europe to experience things that we talk about on the radio.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have started my Couchsurfing journey because I want to discover places through people. This may sound a little bit cliché, but for me the only way to truly experience other country is by get to know locals. I have never been a fan of touristy places and top destinations, but I’m trying to be a part of everyday life of places that I visit.

I want to learn things that aren’t in the guides and break out of this chain of same hotels, sites and food.

I’m very proud of city where I live and study and more than happy to show you around. Cracow gave me this notion about what is like to be in that diverse environment. I spend most of my time in city center area where most of the people are from different cultures and backgrounds, and that is the thing that keeps me going.

Couchsurfing is just another step. As a college student I didn’t get a chance to fully embrace this opportunity, simply because I was living with three other dudes in rather tiny apartment. Now I want to try being part of this community.

I have to say that meeting new people and showing them around was always my thing, although I don’t have any track record. I’m still in touch with some of people that I randomly met somewhere in Cracow or elsewhere on my journeys, and I know by now that those can be sometimes most rewarding friendships that you can get.
