About Me
**No longer able to host, but may be available to meet up in Seattle on evenings/weekends**
Life-long nature enthusiast forever curious about the unique details of this planet and its people. Travel and navigating its challenges has cultivated my resilience and empathy -- it's shown me how much I'm capable of doing by myself and feeling with others. While I've had pretty transient living situations since college, I value being able to build connections and a sense of place wherever I go, for however long. Even in places I've only lived for a year, I'm pretty quick to jump into opportunities for community involvement.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm energized by new experiences! When I'm travelling, CS provides a way to more deeply connect to the place I'm visiting; when I'm in the US, CS still allows me to stay connected to travel. I'm always amazed to learn what similarities and differences I have with travelers around the world!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
A bit of everything, as I played violin for a while growing up. Mostly rock/alternative, but I'm also a geek for genre mash-ups and musical theatre!
Movies:
I'm never "caught up" with movies but I'm generally a comedies person...also the nerdy franchises like LotR and Star Wars :)
Books:
I most often like reading non-fiction about environmental issues, travel, and food issues
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Either amazing or insane: in exactly 1 month I traveled to 9 different countries around Europe and went to the US and back (to London)
Also hitch-hiking around Costa Rica, and "surfing" on a wood raft down a river in remote Panama
Teach, Learn, Share
Show me your culture through food and we'll be good friends! I enjoy cooking for/with others too -- usually vegetarian, but I'm flexible when I travel.
If we're hiking where I live, I'll show you berries and other wild edibles to forage. I'm pretty familiar with the local food and community garden scene in Seattle so I can share info about that.
Happy to practice languages even if my rusty Spanish and Italian will get mixed up occasionally!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Of course my own travel stories!
Weird facts about US culture
Happy to be a travel/hiking/photography buddy :)
Maybe a small crocheted trinket!
