About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn as much as possible in any way possible

ABOUT ME

I'm always planning the next trip. Whether it be a jaunt up to Vermont or something a little more serious, there's no stopping that yearning. That's what brings us all here!
Science is my religion. Even though my field of study is only adjacent to hard science, I grew up the child of a biologist and evolution is what I understand. I am happy that I have the opportunity to be here now.

I'm a very maternal person, but I'm very into 'genderfucking' (playing with traditional gender roles in everyday life). It makes me smile when I see people allowing others the space to be who they want to be & feel they are.
I try to respect everyone's opinion. We are all our own people, products of biology and upbringing. As long as you have a cogent argument for your views, we will get along.

Laughing is the GREATEST ACTIVITY! I cannot emphasize this enough. Humor is the highest art form for me, and sharing laughs has to be one of the most uplifting activities. It would be even better around a nice meal :)

PHILOSOPHY

"Everything is more complicated than you think. You only see a tenth of what is true. There are a million little strings attached to every choice you make." - Synecdoche, New York
“...the people who move through the streets are all strangers. At each encounter, they imagine a thousand things about one another; meetings which could take place between them, conversations, surprises, caresses, bites. But no one greets anyone; eyes lock for a second, then dart away, seeking other eyes, never stopping...something runs among them, an exchange of glances like lines that connect one figure with another and draw arrows, stars, triangles, until all combinations are used up in a moment, and other characters come on to the scene... ” - Italo Calvino, Invisible Cities

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was able to host a few travelers when I lived in Philly between my jobs and schooling.
My friend and I will be traveling around Europe in the fall, and we'll be looking to meet people along the way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've traveled across the country on a 10-day trip with CS, and met some really incredible people.
In Philadelphia, I had the opportunity to host a few people between my jobs and school.
Now, I'm gearing up to travel for a few months in Europe this fall. I would love to meet as many lovely CSers as possible - even if just for a night out!

Interests

I love to cook and laugh and make people feel at home. I LOVE TO BAKE - I WOULD LOVE TO BAKE YOU SOMETHING! I love playing with flavors (mango basil coffeecake!) and perfecting the classics (strawberry rhubarb pie!)

I have a penchant for saying that I had 'great conversations' (because conversations are the best). When talking to someone, I strive to make it a growing and learning experience. I love hearing what people have to say and trying to decipher how they came to their conclusions. To understand is my highest goal. And to laugh. To understand and to laugh.

Languages are my profession. I will never stop analyzing what you say!

I also sew and crochet, and I write for my own benefit (though I'm still too shy to show anyone my work).

And I LOVE to talk theory....
just kidding, I just love to talk IN GENERAL

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Horseback riding on the very top of the Volcan Masaya while it's pouring rain and cracking lightning above us. Not safe, but exhilerating. And it made me feel small, which is humbling and necessary for us humans to receive in small doses, so we don't think we rule this world.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you want to know about the Sandinistas - I got you
