About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Having completed my last mission, my new mission is to choose my next mission.

ABOUT ME

I'm pretty easy going, open minded, smart and dorky. I enjoy real conversations, and never turn down a challenge.

PHILOSOPHY

I take comfort in my belief that we have no purpose in life other than the purposes we make for ourselves. We are all like little insignificant ants crawling on the surface of this planet, and the only real distinguishing factor between us is the content of our dreams.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I don't have anything resembling a couch at the moment, but I really like the idea of meeting people outside of my daily life and I'm always up for meeting someone new for a drink!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I once traveled to Peru attempting to hike around in the jungle -- I couldn't get in to the jungle, but somehow, with very little knowledge of Spanish, I ended up meeting all kinds of interesting people who spontaneously accompanied me on my trek across the country from the mountains to the coast. That was couch surfing the old fashioned way.

Interests

Art, 3D graphics, computer vision, getting outdoors and going on adventures, running, badminton, writing poetry, screenplays, various martial arts including kung fu, tae kwon do, jiu jitsu, fencing, theater

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've died twice and come back to tell of it.

Teach, Learn, Share

Learning is my lifelong passion, and for a long time I thought that I wanted to be a teacher. However, after teaching a high school class for a couple years, and some at the college level as well, I think the bug is out of my system to teach professionally. With that said, I find that the satisfaction gained in teaching something tends to outweigh the satisfaction in having learned it...so I'm looking forward to having time for kids someday, haha!
