About Me
Back in Iceland ✌️
🙌 Hi there, Maxi (taxi) solo traveler here!
I have been here in New Zealand since 6th November 2023. Lately I decided to move to Queenstown. On 07th January I'm going to hit the road to the South Island and probably I'll reach Queenstown on 09th. Already got a job in The Rees hotel where I'm starting from 15th. I'm vigorously looking for some accomodation to rent, but so far unsuccessfully. Highly possible that for my first few weeks I'll be force to book some bed in a hostel or so, but to save some money and soak more into local community I would like to try to find Couchsurfing host at the very beginning.
🎙️ For the 1,5 year I have lived in north of Iceland 🇮🇸 in marvelous city Akureyri. I worked there as a chef, where I was cooking in the one of the best lodges around the world - Deplar Farm. Thanks to that period, I got a chance to redefine my life and save money for my dreamy journey (more you can find in section “One Amazing Thing I’ve Done”). Now before reaching 30 years old I decided to take an opportunity using New Zealand 🇳🇿 work&travel visa and move there for 1 year. I wanna soak into local culture and traditions, contributing as much goodness and positivity as I can to share. I would love to learn and gain new knowledge, skills and experience which New Zealand offers.
👨🎓 I graduated my bachelor on Sport Academy and master on Medical University. Those studies left a print on my head, since I'm paying a lot of attention for healthy choices on my daily basis.
👨💼My work experience is: Guide, CrossFit, Movement and Personal Trainer, Kitesurfing and Snowboarding instructor as well as Chef. Those jobs could define what I like the most in my life. Mean outdoor activities, cooking, taking care of physical and mental health and meeting people full of love, positivity and passion.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Solo backpacking trip just by land, without using any aircrafts from my hometown in Poland through Europe, Middle-East and Asia countries to Himalayan mountains. On my way I passed Poland, Czech, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, Iran, Pakistan and India. My trip I finished with 7 days hike in Himalayan mountains. It was the most enriching experience in my life in terms of so many cases.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’m consider Couchsurfing as a opportunity to get into your tradition, rules, customs and family. I’m not expecting at all to be treated as a guest. I love to feel freely and independently. Hence things which I appreciate the most and at the same point I’m offering to my hosts are:
🍳 some nice meal since I’m passionate chef
🎙️stories and tradition interchanging
🏋️♂️ professional company in sport and outdoor activities because I’m graduated health and physical activist
☕ to grab an outside coffee and do an easy morning
🛒 doing groceries and 🧹 participating in house cleaning and doing a dishes
🗣️ I love to raise the subject of spirituality, sense of living and who we deeply are. I haven’t mastered it but I’m that guy who is way more enjoying deep conversations rather than small talks.
I’m not even a keen to check all of the places around the world more than sharing common kindness which I deeply believe every each of us has ✨
