About Me

Hello :)
I originate from Greece, and not just any place, but from Nafplio and Tyros. My heritage places.
Maybe as a kid I thought I was a dog or some other non-human animal that I loved, so I grew up caring for all animals. Or just lots of them -there are certainly human weak points. Nevertheless, empathy was taught in their company.
I have a dog that's family, a girl with the beautiful name "Rea". She's all black with small hidden secrets on her long fur in the color of light brown. Alternatively, she's either an African wild-dog, a fox or a wildgoat, nobody seems to be sure, so we still call her a dog but really, just Rea. Rea makes it complete.
My somewhat unspoken, deepest call and desire is to write myself a book. Without coherence or limits, just a book about being around.
And the piano, another desire of the same kind that remains incomplete, however, continuous. (recently, a German zither was added to the family -fingers crossed it will flourish.)
There are two main places I would like to visit: Egypt and Japan. But there will always be one place that I long for and ask to go back to: Istanbul.
In real, canonical time, I still study archaeology, searching my future in bones' stories and shapes, animal bones, while being mostly on the move. One regular stop-by is Athens.
A city like no other, like every other city. Real, tired, imperfect, spotted, smelly, cruel, empathetic, blissful, in color, wearing ruins, everywhere ruins: old-new, artistic, wise, young, reckless, teethless, an accordionist, ideologist, lost inside its own citadel, a world child and not. Everything inside that city -Athens' everything.

Now I'll catch a breath here, maybe in time I will add up things.

So, nice to meet you,
Malvina

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling
Travels
Meeting
Friendship
Wondering

I'll give you then the reason in a Levi Strauss' paraphrase:
Trips are not only happening through space but also through time. You may travel forwards in the future or back in the past towards somewhat different realities.
And because space is 3D a travel is represented by multiple dimensions all together.
There is also the social dimension that exists. You travel, you become someone else, maybe poorer, maybe richer, you put yourself in different angles impossible to do at home, you may understand the world and your situation better.

Well, my interpretation.
