Overview
About Me
My name is Mandy, I'm 28 and moved to The Hague two years ago. Because I am new to this area, I decided to sign up for Couchsurfing :). It is a really cool way to really get to know people, instead of just the 'bartalk'. Which is also fun of course, but nothing compare to actual conversations. I work as an office manager at a real estate agency, where I mostly works with expats, embassies and ministries residing in The Hague. Besides that, I'm an ambassador for Venture Cafe. I love to volunteer, both to meet new people ánd to give something in return for the opportunities they provide me. It is an awesome learning spot. Nowadays, I try to spend my spare time at visiting musea and walking around, to find my way in this beautiful part of Holland. Furthermore, I love drinking coffee and having good conversations.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I discovered this amazing app pretty recently and I surely do not regret that at all. I have met beautiful people and still cannot believe that everybody is so open, hospitable and friendly. I am grateful for well, almost, every experience I've had so far.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like all kinds of music, espescially when it's a live performance.
As for movies, that depends on my mood. But, when the story is good, I will love it. Right now I am reading a book written by Nobel-pricewinner Daniël Kahneman; he wrote an amazing story about the way our brain work.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
riding a bike on Broadway, NY! I'm afraid to ride it in Amsterdam though, haha. And also, last year I helped myself getting over a trauma, caused by an ATV crash in Kentucky. I drove that thing again and I owned it 😎
Teach, Learn, Share
These 3 words are describing me! I am eager to learn and explore. My mindset changed a lot due to personal stuff and I feel like I have been missing a lot, by not living day by day back then. I can share my knowlegde of my experiences, writing and how to serve the perfect coffee. Which is by far the best drink ever invented.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm social, interested, a proper listener ánd talker. I'm very open and easy-going. Nothing is obligated; I can be on my own as well as in good company! Besides, my last name can be translated as 'chef', so I am experimenting with recipies to honor my surname ;-).
