About Me
[I am easier to reach on instgram: @manutje]
I was born in the sunny Sardinia (Italy), but I’m half Dutch so I also spent several years of my life in the Netherlands, where I’m currently studying International Relations at the University of Maastricht.
I’ve never been good at describing myself, and I don’t like to do it since I don’t want to be bound to a label or definition. I can tell you that I am an easy-going, open-minded and curious person. I always try to learn more about this world, by getting in touch with different types of people and cultures. I like to meet new people when I travel, I like to share memories and stories with them and especially to create new ones. I especially love when I have the feeling that, even if only for a moment, I was really connected to someone and I truly learned something about him/her.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I never had a couchsurfing experience before. I have always thought that this kind of experience can truly enrich you, but I never felt brave enough to get out of my comfort-zone. Right now, I feel like I miss something when I travel, I miss the contact with locals and the awareness to explore the true face of a city. That’s why I decided to give couchsurfing a try!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
Italian songwriters are my favourite ones, especially De André, Guccini and Rino Gaetano. But I grew up listening to all music genres, from blues and rock, to reggae and folk music. In general I don’t really care about the genre as long as the music makes me feel something.
Books:
My favourite writer at the moment is Gabriel Garcia Marquez, but I also like Jack Kerouac, Jane Austen, Federico Garcia Lorca, Pirandello, George Orwell, Albert Camus, Victor Hugo, J. K. Rowling.
