About Me
Sick of working at the same office job at an international bank in São Paulo, Brazil for over 2 years I decided to pack my life up and move to Australia. Born and raised in Brazil with a short passage through Vancouver for a 1.5 years of experience at a Canadian university and descendent of European immigrants I always felt I needed to get out there. There is so much more to a life experience than following the beaten path of graduating from High School, attending a good university, finding a steady job and constructing a family. I had this epiphany as I reached the stage of finding a steady job. So I embarked onto this eye-opening one-year journey throughout Australia, where I visited the country’s four corners on a 3-month campervan trip. During my time Down Under I also met fellow backpackers, waited tables, painted people’s houses, picked blueberries on a remote area farm, gave people rides, lived on 1 dollar a day, learned how to shoot, worked at a travel agency, cooked my first meal and so many other life hacks.
Amazed by this life changing experience I decided to expand my travel horizons and discover a whole new world called Southeast Asia. Throughout 3 months I played it day-by-day and travelled to Bali, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Singapore with no plans whatsoever. Got to meet people and discover new places that I never had dreamed of while sitting over 8 hours per day in front of my bank computer.
The biggest lesson I carry with me after all of this is a self-confident Marcelo. I am now ready to face new opportunities that can be put ahead of me with great resilience. Adept at leading a team or working as part of a team, I am also an enthusiastic self-starter and full of initiative. All of the experiences in the corporate world and as a backpacker have constructed a responsible, ambitious and dedicated human being.
Look forward in meeting you all and making the most of what a new place and new people have to offer!
