Greetings to my future host !

For the past year I have transitioned from a very busy single mom of four and full time business owner to an almost full time empty nester and traveling employee. Yes, after raising four kids while attending graduate school and working, I definitely enjoyed my first year of solitude however, I found I miss and prefer the company of others.

I have simplified, made the tough decision to close my business and Move my residence of thirty years from the beautiful seaside of Westport , MA to this small , idyllic town of Niantic CT . My “Mary Tyler Moore” moment has finally come, my career choice will allow time to travel (even if it’s the best town over) and my goal is to eventually live in NYC.

As a single, white female - I am very laid back, goal orientated and generally am sweet, smart and can be a bit saucy !! By profession, I am a nurse by day and a novice stand up comedian by night, I have lived a full energetic life thus far and I look forward to the plethora of new adventures ahead.!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I only learned of couch surfer today!

My primary purpose for joining couchsurfer:

I started a new job in Providence for three days a week Tuesday through Thursday starting at 6am and after two weeks I found the daily commute to be exhausting. I am not ready to find permanent housing in RI just yet and would like to explore the different provinces of Providence, first before I settle on a location.

The future potential of couchsurfer :
Now that I live on the Amtrak route and have the time, I have been cruising all over NE and NY - whether to visit the kids at college or attend business and social events . Couchsurfer could provide me with company, shelter and a chance to network with people face to face.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a variety of interests however, lately I prefer walking and listening to audio books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My favorite thus far is when I took the summer off (had a teaching job at the time) and traveled cross country and up to Alaska with my four children under twelve. No planned places to visit, just winged the whole trip iand had a great time !
