CURRENT MISSION To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as I am about my own. ABOUT ME (In no particular order), I'm a teacher, wife, mother, daughter, and friend. I enjoy trying new things and want to go new places, but still love the old things, too. I camp, kayak, bike, walk, read, cook, make origami, watch movies, read books, and teach. Good wine, good food, and interesting company are some of my favorite things. My children have all grown up and I'm ready to travel; I hope you'll help :-) PHILOSOPHY The optimist's Creed - I can't say it any better! To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet. To make all your friends feel there is something in them. To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. To think only the best, to work only for the best and expect only the best. To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own. To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile. To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I've only learned about CS recently from a girl at work. I'm still learning, but want to jump in! COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE None yet, but I hope to go to Europe for the month of July. I'll share my stories when I get back.
Music, Movies, and Books
TED TALKS (my favorite), West Wing, Titanic, Groundhog Day, Caddy Shack, Romancing the Stone, Iron Man (anything smart, fun, quirky, or historical); in books I love anything written by Nora Roberts; and in music (thought I'm not musical) I like country, old rock, and some modern hits.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
White-water rafting in Montana; everyone should try it once in their lifetime. Sleeping on the top of a mountain in a lookout cabin is pretty cool, too. And bike riding the Taff Tunnel (old railroad line turned bike trail, including tunnels) was super fun.
Teach, Learn, Share
Sometimes I teach origami workshops for fun - I'll bring some paper - but I teach science and know a lot of random and cool science experiences. Logic games and cards are also favorites. If it's your hobby, and you'd like to share, I'd like to learn how to "bead" and make jewelry.
My Interests
In Europe I'd like to visit art museums and castles. In America there are only a few buildings over 200 years old, and I realize that I've never been in one.
