I don't like traditional tourist experiences. When I travel, I like to immerse myself in the culture and prefer to see with the eyes of a local as opposed to just scratching the surface.

Just to name a few: Books: Thomas Pynchon, Philip Roth, Oscar Wilde, William Blake, Toth Arpad, Jokai, Poe, Martin Amis, Bill Bryson... Some titles: Heart of Darkness; Like Water for Chocolate; Bless Me, Ultima; Regeneration Trilogy, Shakespeare's Hamlet, etc etc... Music: mainly rock and dance. Manu Chao, Jethro Tull, The Prodigy, David Guetta, Robbie Williams, Oasis, The Wildhearts, Linkin Park, R.E.M, U2, Madonna, and so on... Hungarian bands like Quimby, Black-Out, Roy es Adam trio. Movies: anything with Johnny Depp, The Matrix, Fight Club, Apocalypse Now, Dead Poets' Society, etc, and TV shows like Scrubs, HIMYM, Modern Family, Sex and the City.
