About Me
Hey there, my name is Marcus, and the furry friend in my picture is Cricket - my number one adventure companion when i'm at home.
As for me, I'm a pretty easygoing guy. I've got a lot of different skills and i own my own tutoring business so i'm pretty good at teaching them too. Hiking is one of my favorite things to do, and I try to do a self led trip each summer. So far I've backpacked around Seattle, San Francisco, hiked the 486 mile Colorado Trail, and seen a good portion of Maine/New Hampshire through rock climbing, backpacking, and sailing. I love hearing about other people's stories and adventures too, and i'm always down to create new stories, memories, and adventures.
I'm an open person and if you've got any questions about anything that's not addressed on my profile, please don't hesitate to ask.
See you down the road,
- Marcus Jeremiah Johnson
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I made an account on couchsurfing because I felt that it was a great way to meet people while traveling solo. Ever since I found out about hostels I've always loved what they stood for - a simple place to sleep & eat, and lots of opportunities to meet new people. Couchsurfing reminds me a lot of that culture, and I can't wait to experience more of it

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I listen to just about everything. I've written a few songs on guitar and I think those are my favorites because of the inspirations behind them
Movies: I've probably seen every Christopher Nolan movie at least 3 times
Books: I'm a big fan of a lot of graphic novels and manga like Naruto, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Death Note.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last summer I began achieving my dream of learning how to sail. I learned how to sail a 30 foot ketch along the coast of Maine. It's safe to say that I'm addicted and cannot wait to sail again.
