About Me

I'm a 30 year old doctor, currently living in a van in Portugal.
I love travelling, seeing new things, learning new things and meeting new people (as well as old friends of course).
Currently I'm doing a trip through Switzerland to see if I could live there and lead a more settled life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love travelling but I don't think it's possible to get to know a place without getting in touch with the locals. One of the best things about travelling is meeting new people, because there are so many cool people with cool stories to tell and cool things to teach. So travelling becomes more than only seeing buildings, landsacpes and learning about the history. It becomes learning about life.

Interests

I love being outdoors and will never say no to an ADVENTURE!!! I basicly like all kind of sports, read most kinds of books, love meeting intersting people and enjoy learning about anything that doesn't involve too much technology ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

For music I like (almost) everything that doesn't get boring after a few seconds.
My favorite books are the "Die Känguru Chroniken" (sorry, guys, I don't think they've translated it to any other language) and Harry Potter (probably thanks to the actor who reads the german audiobook ;)), the winter rose and soooo many more!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, there are so many! I'll probably never forget hinking in the french alps with a donkey, who carried most of our luggage when I was 13 years old, where we camped with amazing views on the mont blanc. Neither will I forget so many situations in Cameroon, from teaching basic computer skills to deaf children with my very basic French sign language skills, over being invited to a Bayram party in the palace of the local king to visiting the village of my Ex-boyfriend that could only be reached by a 3h boat ride.
My latest favorite is a 2 week trip to Iceland, hitchhiking and camping. It's such a beautiful country and I even learned some words of Icelandic!

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I have a medical degree and spent the last years writing a podcast about obstetrics and gynecology, so if you have any questions regarding that, I'm always happy to explain (just stop me if i get carried away :D).
And I have the bif talent of basically being able to get curious about anything, spent some time learning everything about it, loosing interest and moving in to the next topic. So my friends joke that I'm a walking dictionary, but my expertise is often on quite random topics.
