I'm Maren, 23 years old and finished my apprenticeship in working with people with handicaps. I study a kind of social work in Münster. I'm open-minded, down to earth and tolerant. I want to see the world and get to know more countries, cultures and people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Two years ago I traveled through the USA and Canada with my friend Waltraud (26) for six weeks. These was an excited adventure, so we would like to surf more couches in the Dominican republic this year and meet up more interesting and funny people. We would like to get to know the culture and the country and we think that there is no better way than spend time with the local people.
It's always nice to get to know new people especially from other countries and cultures.

Interests

I like to meet friends, go out with them and hear music. Moreover I like to travel, especially in warm countries and experience new exciting things. The most exciting things happen without planning, spontaneously and in moments when you don't expect or need them. I like to hear funny, exciting and fascinating stories.

Music, Movies, and Books

At the moment I like to read books from Jojo Moyes and watch movies like The Hobbit. I listen to many kinds of music, mostly to charts.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My favorite trip was the trip to Ghana during Easter holidays. Two weeks I traveled around with my family and we were enthusiastically received and were welcome everywhere. We saw very different and beautiful landscapes, met very friendly people and did a lot of amazing things like paragliding, abseiling, seeing monkeys and elephants in their natural habitat, sleeping in a tree house in a national park and a six hour walk to wonderful waterfalls! It was an amazing and adventurous trip!
The next adventure was the USA and Canada trip where I started Couchsurfing with a friend. We met many wonderful people. Especially the nature in the Canadian national parks Banff and Jasper were amazing and we had a lot of exciting trips there. I'm sure we can tell you a lot about these adventure if we meet up.
