About Me

Hi ! I am a wandering dreamer who always says "Why not ?" to everything and nothing. I am easy going and I love walking in the city or the countryside, listening to sounds and looking at colors and features... and drawing them, even if I can be a little lazy some time. I like being amazed and amused ; ). I travel from town to town with curiosity, enthusiasm, and my backpack ^^, looking for new adventures everywhere I go.

I enjoy discovering new things, new people, new dishes, new cultures, new places, new cats, new games, new experiences... but what I like the most is to see weird and unusual stuff, and to DO unusual and fun things with people, especially when they're challenging. We should not let difficulty ruin an trip, because difficulty is the reason it is "adventure" and not just "tourism". So, if you have hobbies or activities to share with me, I would be glad to join you ^^ !

I do my best to make the most out of my trips, and to create memorable experiences : at the end, it's what matters the most, and it is what you're gonna keep for the rest of your life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like meeting people and I think talking and sharing time with locals is a cool way to discover a city. It also is really funny and rewarding. It makes the travel more... adventurous and roleplay !
CS also allows people to have a more "out of the box" experience. Although I am a bit shy at first, I am always amazed by how fast we can connect with new people, and use this experience to develop confidence and communiaction skills. At the end, you can make friends all over the world !

I am really impressed by the kindness and the warmth of people who hosted me in France, USA and Canada, and I do my best to return the favor by hosting people at my place and helping the CS community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE :

I surfed for the first time in Canada several years ago with my mother and my brother. I surfed on my own for the first time in Toulouse (France). I made my first backpacking trip in USA, going from Boston to Montreal, and I met amazing and very welcoming hosts on this trip. I haven't traveled that much in eastern countries, but I hope I'm gonna do it soon.

We hosted some people when I was living with my family in Casablanca, and I also hosted people in Bordeaux when I was there for my studies. Now, I live on Ottawa ON, and I am looking forward to host fellow travellers as much as I can.

Interests

I am a pretty curious person, so... everything can interest me ^^. I still have a preference for animation/cartooning topics, and martial arts stuff.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music :
I often listen different kinds of rock (and metal) bands like Skillet, Breaking Benjamin, Nirvana, Coldrain (really cool japaneese band). I also listen movies and animes Original Sound Tracks. I often listen to piano or electronic music when I study.

I like trying new bands and music, and I would be pleased to discover your tastes, and add them to my playlists.

Books :
I like Amelie Nothomb, Bernard Werber, and Paolo Coehlo's Alchemist. But I also enjoy reading sagas like Percy Jackson and The Wardstone Chronicles. I sometimes (when I am patient enough ^^) read more practical self-help books. Unfortunately, I haven't read as much as I would like.

Movies :
I love animation movies, especially Miyazaki's ones, Pixar's movies (Coco was a really cool one), I like Kurosawa's samurai movies, old movies, Tarantino ones, Marvel superhero movies, indie/small animation movies... But there are still a lot of well known films I didn't watch. I am trying to improve my cinema culture.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacking for my first trip in USA !

Visiting Ghandi's house in India !

Making a drawing which moves !! (I know it's quite normal and it's called animation, but I really find it amazing each time I see it.)

Teach, Learn, Share

One of the things I am currently trying is to play a game (card game, video game, talking game, board game... any game) with my hosts/guests. It's a funnier and better way to know about someone. "To know oneself is to study oneself in action" ^^ !

I can teach you or give you tips about drawing or, if you're learning french (or english), I can help you practice. I like to share travel exeriences and tips. I am curious about how I can make trips better and funnier.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cup of tea, good music, if you like drawing I will be glad to draw with you !
