About Me

Hi everyone! I am a young brazilian anthropologist, that loves to travel, to learn new things, to spend time with the loved ones and help people the way I can.
I lived most of my life in São Paulo, Brazil, but I have been arround a bit.
At age 16, I did a high school exchange in Auckland, New Zealand, and it was awesome! That was when my passion for travelling really started. Then I lived 1 year at Rio de Janeiro, to study at University. But I end up quitting arquitecture classes and change it to anthropology. After moving back to my moms house, I did a backpack arround Bolivia, Chile and Peru, with a mate, and felt in love with spanish language. In 2017 I went overseas again, to study for 6 months in Barcelona =)
So now I am back in Brazil, working at an social-environment NGO in São Paulo. We work together with indigenous and tradicional people, to contributte in the struggle for human rights, against the climate change, and to protect the brazilian forest against the ones who really dont give a fuck to the nature and its inhabitants.
Nowadays I live with my boyfriend and a mate at the center of São Paulo, in a tiny but cool apartment.
I really enjoy cooking (and eating haha), playing and listening to music, making new friends, studying and reading! I read a lot at uni and love literature.
We will hopefully see each other sometime soon, aye!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, first of all, I think that people who offers a place in their own house for free are more likely to be openminded and experienced backpackers. Thats a wonderful way not only to share some travel's histories but to help people and make new friends! I apreciate those who try to make the world a less money-exclusive place.
Its surelly a great way to meet new people, to stay with locals, to know the cities arround the world.
And, afterall, we all know brazilian money doesnt have great vallue, especially with this huuuuuuge political crises afecting the economy (and actually all the rest, Brazil is such a mess at the moment :/ )... As a anthropologist I dont really make much money, but I still want to enjoy life... and this way I can, thanks to this wonderful community that Couchsurf is!

Music, Movies, and Books

Ohhh I will have to think a lot so I can pick favourites books, musics, books.
I like sooooo many of them!!!!!
But in general I listen to brazilian music, most of it samba in its multiples posibilities.
I enjoy latin america music too, especially the tradicional ones of Peru, Argentina, Chile.
After living in Barcelona I finally got to know and love jazz, cumbia and balcan music too.
Well, apart from eletronic and pop music, I pretty much listen to everything else.

Writors
Eduardo Galeano
Clarice Lispector
Carlos Drummond

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This year I went to an event in Brazil's capital that did a political march that gathered 100 THOUSAND women from all over the country. It was a four day event with feminist women from the countryside, including indigenous women and children. Its hard to describe how amazing it was too see the strenght of women, the beauty of so many people together trying to guarantee the rights we have, fighting for a better country to live in. Together we can do more <3

BUNGIE JUMPINGGGG in New Zealand was also great!!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share some vegetarian recipes I have learned throw these last 8 years without meat.
Or how to do the perfect brigadeiro, a really special brazilian candy.
I have learned a bit about the medicine of plants, teas, vegetables, and as someone who really believe in the power of nature, I would be glad to share this kind of knowledge with anyone.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I know a bit of brazilian music and brazilian tradicional culture, so I could share references, tell you history of some of Gilberto Gil's, Chico Buarque's, Caetano Veloso's songs, share types of music thats hard to find.
I am learning how to take photos with professional cameras, and I am willing to teach what I know so far.
I can cook really good food sometimes (but its sort of good/bad luck kind a thing haha)
But its worth saying: I only cook vegetarian meals.
