PHILOSOPHY

Our time on Earth is only a very small portion of our beings, and though it may not be the best stage of it, it certainly is the most important phase of it. "The sole purpose of life is to serve humanity"; I believe that true happiness is not affected by any outside circumstances and it is achieved by ceasing the pursuit of self gratification, and seizing each opportunity to act kind and selfless. Kindness does signify respect; respect was invented to fill the space where love should be, and true love is rare and it is only real when one's acts of goodness are completely unrelated to its cause and effects; doing something for others because something was done for you, or so that others will do something for you, is egoism, not kindness. You are what you think, acting in a way that does not correspond to your thoughts is hypocritical, if you want to change who you are you must not attempt to change what you do or say, you must change how you think. Don't judge, not so you won't be judged, but because true righteousness lives in one's heart and not in what is visible to the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have traveled to many different places, done a many amazing things, but I once watched a handicapped homeless man performing simple tricks on the streets of Ocho Rios, Jamaica; he never asked for money from anyone, his goal was to make all that passed by smile, if a person didn't smile he would continue to perform different tricks until they finally smiled, and when they did, though he did not have a single tooth in his mouth, he would give them the biggest smile I have ever seen; as I said good-bye to this man, he replied with three simple words: "I love you" and of course, with a huge smile, and although this man had no legs, no house and no teeth, he was a happy man, he had love, he had EVERYTHING!!! That was definitely the most amazing thing I have ever seen: Divine bliss in the shape of a Jamaican man!

As far as one amazing thing that I've done... I guess saving a life would have to be at the top of the list.
