About Me
Hi YOU!
Hope Your days is going great - greetings from Lithuania!
Nice to meet you, I'm Marija - graphic design student/ friend / explorer / traveler in progress.
After living all my life in one country and not traveling a lot I'm ready to leave my comfort zone I'm deeeeeply stuck in. I'm organised, always think twice so couchsurfing is the last thing my friends would expect me to do. Yet I'm here, open to everything this experience will bring.
I strongly believe that the world is too big and the time we have here is too little - why should we waist it?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Me and my boyfriend of 4 years Algirdas (professional volleyball player, cars history self-taught professional, the most reliable, open-minded, communicable and funiest human being ever - yep, I like him very much) have this crazy idea - to travel in Europe backpacking (Okay, not so crazy, but again - my scale of craziness is different). The whole point is we bought only one way tickets with a start in Paris. Where we might end up? Hmm, good question. In our plans we have Marseille, Rome but one might never know. We do not really care about the final destination - it's about traveling. Meeting people, tasting food, creating memories. Couchsurfing is a perfect place for this - it gives an opportunity that no hostel can offer. Why would we want to miss it?
While still in Kaunas, I decided to become a host myself - and it was incredible! Not only the surfer but the host as well gets and amazing experience. So I really want to continue this journey and I hope to find people who would like to become part of it by creating memories together!
I take couchsurfing very seriously. By any means it's not a "free sleeping". It's all about building community, meeting people, experiencing. It costs time for hosts to look through profiles and I respect that very much. They have to be very open to welcome someone into their homes and share space. Therefore I, as a surfer, am willing to do my best in order for the host to have the most beautiful experience as well.
Music, Movies, and Books
When it comes to music - Kings of Leon, hands down! One of my favorite bands of all time. I was lucky enough so see them performing live while on "WALLS" tour.
Also I listen to old classics such as The Beatles and ABBA. Influence from my parents, I guess.
And of course I should not forget Red Hot Chili Peppers. I could sing the lyrics of "Snow" even if you would wake me up in the middle of the night.
Top three of the books would probably be "Three Comrades" by Erich Maria Remarque, "Jonathan Livingston Seagull", written by Richard Bach and "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac
Now movies - I'm addicted to movies. Number one on my list would be "Forrest Gump" - I have seen it more than 10 times, I guess. I just love Tom Hanks - any movie with him is worth watching. Also anything from Quentin Tarantino. Though I haven't watched all of his movies - because there are not so many I prefer to save some for the future. AND let's not forget Harry Potter. Something totally different from the rest, but I can't help - I just have to watch all of it a least once per year. Crazy, heh
