Hi! I'm Marika. I'm always eager to try out new things like learning to cook different foods and picking up new languages. When I travel, I like to take things slow and instead of the obvious sights I want to search for those yet to be discovered. I live in Tokyo as I am doing an internship here. I like traveling or hanging out with friends.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to meet people with similar interests. I am going to check out the Couchsurfing scene in Tokyo but feel free also to message me if you are around.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am quite new to Couchsurfing still. In 2012 I tried it for the first time with my friend in Belgium and it seems like a great way to meet different people around the world. After that I have hosted about ten times in Helsinki so far and met up with some fellow travelers as well in the Couchsurfing meetups.

Sunset in the savannah in Ghana national park. Meditation in temple stay in Seoul. Traveling through Siberia with my best friend.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Finnish language and how to cook some of the traditional foods. I can also share my favorite places to visit in Helsinki or in other parts of Finland. I'm interested to learn other languages and hope to learn to cook dishes from different countries.
