Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF MOVING TO BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA, SO WILL BEGIN ACCEPTING GUESTS IN SEVERAL MONTHS.
So far my husband and I have surfed in Seattle and have hosted a few times for which we are grateful . I have agreed to host several people who have changed plans, some of whom misunderstood that we are in Carmel, INDIANA, not California. We prefer to host surfers with a verified profile.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Our host in Seattle took in five of us as we looked for a rental out there! We have only had four guests who has stayed here so far, and we have enjoyed them immensely.
Interests
Hiking, biking, reading, gardening, teaching and otherwise exploring are things my husband, Greg, and I enjoy.
We also volunteer as environmental activists through Citizens' Climate Lobby, Sierra Club, Hoosier Environmental Council, and Carmel Urban Forestry. Although our sons used to tell fellow travelers that there wasn't much to do in Indiana, there are many wonderful places to discover here, from craft breweries to tall limestone cliffs along the Ohio River. We are happy to share!

Music, Movies, and Books
One of my favorite books is Barbara Kingsolver's Flight Patterns. I loved the characters and the ecological setting. I love jazz and world music. Our family once drove from Carmel, Indiana, to Atlanta, Georgia,to hear Yassou N'Dour.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing events of my lifetime include marrying my lifelong partner in the Tetons, and sharing many adventures with our children and granddaughters.
Teach, Learn, Share
Depending on the season, guests can pick food from the garden and cook with me. We can compost, weed and plant. Many interesting birds come to our feeder. My husband and I can usually make time to show guests around the area. Carmel has an Arts and Design District with monthly walks from gallery to gallery. We can explore wineries, breweries, restaurants and parks or enjoy food and drinks on our patio.
My husband Greg and I are longtime Sierra Club members and are very active in Citizens' Climate Lobby. We are very concerned about sustainability and a livable planet.
What I Can Share with Hosts
