Overview
About Me
I am a Senior Project Engineer and Project Manager with over 20 years of experience delivering large-scale industrial, resources, and energy projects worldwide. I have led multidisciplinary teams on Alliance and EPCM projects across the globe.
My career has taken me far beyond the UK. I have lived and worked across Asia and the Middle East, including Dubai, China, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Japan, as well as Australia.
Outside of work, I am an endurance athlete. I run, hike, and cycle whenever I get the chance, and I have completed various marathons across Asia. Whether I am navigating a complex project life cycle or a long-distance trail, I bring the same discipline, resilience, and forward-thinking mindset. I am always open to connecting with fellow professionals in the energy and infrastructure sectors, especially those who share a passion for sustainable engineering and an active, global lifestyle.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Why do I use this platform? Because I've learned that a hotel room gives you silence, but a stranger's couch can give you wisdom.
I believe helping others and learning from others is the most sacred tool in helping yourself. It's the foundation of character. So when I travel, I don't want a tour guide. I want a real exchange – your story, your city, your work, your perspective. And in return, I offer mine: decades of engineering experience, honest conversation, a good meal cooked together, and genuine respect for your space and time.
Music, Movies, and Books
The Intouchables (2011) and the soundtrack.
Marcus Aurelius: "You have power over your mind – not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.
Sun Tzu: "Know yourself, know the other. A thousand battles, a thousand victories." That applies to engineering, to travel, and to how I treat every person I meet.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I worked as a volunteer for Don Bosco Foundation for 5 years and still do part time.
Teach, Learn, Share
For 5 years, I stepped away from engineering to teach – at universities, high schools, and even primary schools. Why? Because I believe helping others and learning from others is the most sacred tool in helping yourself. It's the foundation of character. Teaching children, teenagers, and young adults reminded me that curiosity has no age, and wisdom flows in every direction.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have traveled the globe – every continent except the Americas
I'm tidy, independent, and happy to cook, help with small tasks, or just stay out of your way if you're busy. I arrive with a small gift, share a good story if you'd like one, and leave no trace except perhaps a new friend.
