About Me

I am lucky and have had a great life and I love always sharing good experiences with people.
I have a family - a lovely wife and two children.
I started a company with my wife selling gifts but enjoy doing lots of different things.
I have been lucky enough to travel the world, been a farmer, started my own business and successfully sold it and am currently planning to sail around the UK.
And... I always carry a (small!) penknife - it is amazing how often you can help someone to do something or open something and it starts a conversation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Life is an experiment - don't you think? The biggest part of this amazing experiment is meeting new people and there are so many nice people to meet!
When travelling I often talk to someone sitting next door to me on the airplane, finding out about them, what we have in common, sometimes ending up staying with them and of course having lots of laughs.
I have also employed a lot of people over the years and this has taught me a lot.
I like playing chess, cards and board games (I even helped invent one which I can show you).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Created a wildflower meadow which changes every year and is very beautiful.
My next plan is to build a swing which goes "all the way over"! It is possible!

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to teach and share everything I have learned starting and running a business.
I like teaching sailing to youngsters who have never sailed before.
I love to learn more about what other people enjoy in life - like art and sport and literature.
Share business skills.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Love of trees, wildflowers and sailing.
My experience of starting up, running and selling a business.
A bottle of wine, a bunch of flowers and of course a delicious meal!
