Overview
About Me
I'm a reasonably fit 50 plus male who still plays football (and not over 35s either ha ha) I was a single parent for 15 years until they flew the coop. They are doing very well now. I own and run a small seaside café/restaurant in Irvine. Long story short, disastrous relationship/my exs dream not mine and totally disillusioned by the cut and thrust of business. I like to paint and play guitar, both equally badly. I began researching alternative lifestyles a few years ago and have become increasingly drawn to the idea of sustainable living. I optimistically calculated that I have, at best, 25 years left on this planet to pursue a more fulfilling lot. I wont lie, the prospect of throwing away a comfortable lifestyle for one of uncertainty both excites and terrifies me in equal portions.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on here to possibly meet like minded souls on my journey . I want to experience real life not a touristy fantasy
Interests
I'm interested in alternative living and seeing if it is really possible to live money and possession free. As stated I like to paint and play guitar. I love keeping myself fit so running, boxing, football and weight training are all interests I have, although I can't guess where they would fit in on my travels.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm an old punk so anything punky. My favourite movie is either Its a Wonderful life (cheesy I know) or The Bucket List (even cheesier) There have been two books that completely changed my outlook on life many, many years ago, 1984 and Das Kapital. Ironic now that I'm business owner.
