About Me

I'm 28 years old guy from Finland who loves travelling, adventures and exploring this world.

On September 2016 I left my home to travel in Europe for 6 months by bicycle. After a couple of months I met another cyclist who told he is going to New Zealand. I got an idea to extend my trip and I set my goal to NZ.

I was not prepared for such a long trip, but I could not ignore the opportunity to have the adventure of my life. During the trip I slept on deserts and mountains, forests and couches, abandoned buildings and hostels. I crossed the second highest highway in the world (4655 meters), cycled in Australia in +45 degrees heat carrying food for 10 days and 20 litres water, and crossed a Chinese desert in winter without a tent after a desert storm destroyed it. I spent 2,5 years covering 40 000 km in 31 countries before arriving to NZ. I have many good stories and I would be happy to share them with you.

I'm an open-minded person and I love to explore and try new things. I like nature and outdoors and am passionated (yet not so good) photographer. I'm adrenaline addict. Before this trip I used to go skydiving and am looking forward to start it again one day. Scuba diving is on my list.

At the moment I'm living in NZ near Otakiri and trying to return the many favours I was given on the road. I have a cat and a small house and am happy to open my new home to travellers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I can sleep in a hotel. I can eat in a restaurant. But I can't buy a new friend from a supermarket so I use Couchsurfing, it is a fantastic way to meet people.
