About Me
Hello, everyone!
Let me share a bit about myself. My name is Martin Cordero, and I come from the Dominican Republic. It's a small island called La Hispaniola, located in Central America, and it's divided into two countries: Haiti and the Dominican Republic. According to many historians, la Hispaniola was the first island "discovered" by Christopher Columbus, whether that's seen as a positive or negative historical event.
Putting history aside and returning to my personal story, I am in Italy thanks to a part of my family who was already living here. I arrived in Padua in April 2010. Initially, I continued my studies and later ventured into the workforce. Currently, I work for a company that specializes in designing and manufacturing biomedical equipment, primarily for analyzing the middle ear. If you're interested, I'd be happy to share more about this with you later on.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on Couchsurfing because I used to live with one of my best friends (who is also my coworker) who introduced me to Couchsurfing. He hosted a guy from Spain who explained to me how useful and enjoyable this application is for traveling and meeting new people. After having a positive experience with my new friend from Spain, I began meeting and hosting people from all over the world. Additionally, I had the opportunity to visit some of my Couchsurfing friends whom I had hosted, and they were very kind and appreciative towards me. :)
****IMPORTANT MESSAGE***
I do not appreciate those travelers who send accommodation requests and then cancel them at the last minute, unfortunately, it is becoming increasingly common. Some travelers do not realize the inconvenience they cause by holding a place/room that could genuinely be needed by others. It is neither fair to the hosts nor to the platform.
I strongly believe in the philosophy that Couchsurfing promotes. This platform provides us with the opportunity to meet new people from all over the world, share our culture, and learn about others' cultures as well. And why not? It also allows us to travel while saving money by not having to pay for accommodation. I could go on, but I won't spoil it for you any further.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message, and I am certain you will understand. Sending you a warm embrace.
Interests
My interests span from sharing a glass of wine with someone appreciative to exploring new cities and countries to encounter new stories and make new friends. I am also deeply passionate about music. For me, dancing is a means to express the happiness that a beautiful song holds within itself. I possess a strong curiosity when it comes to meeting new people, and I am particularly intrigued by the prospect of forming connections that allow for a seamless flow into the future.
