About Me

AT THE MOMENT I AM NOT REALLY USING COUCHSURFING ANY MORE

My name is Martin. I'm a calm/chill person, interested in movies, photography and want to travel more.

I grew up in a Hungarian-speaking family, in a transylvanian town called Turda (Romania), but nowadays I only speak Dutch and English.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To travel more, and meet interesting people.

Interests

Photography, film-making/movies, screenwriting, reading, running.

Music, Movies, and Books

My tastes vary, and can change.

I'm into different genres and type of music: Muse, The Killers, A Whisper In The Noise, The Neil Cowley Trio, Emilana Torrini, Feist, Keane, The Keiser Chiefs, Hooverphonic, Philip Glass, The Pidgeon Detectives, Unkle, The Smiths...

James will always be one of my favourite bands - they are criminally underrated!

It's impssible to pick a favorite movie. I like the work of Martin Scorsese, Michael Haneke, Paul Thomas Anderson, Jean Luc Godard, David Fincher, Thomas Vintenberg, the Coen brothers, the Dardenne brothers, Nicholas Winding Refn, early Luc Besson and many others.

I'm quite fond of J.D. Salinger's "The Catcher In The Rye", Truman Capote's "In Cold Blood", Bret Easton Ellis' "American Psycho" , Arthur C. Clarke's "Rendesvous With Rama" and the satyrical/hillarious book "Lives Of The Dog-Stranglers", by Simon Mason.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Since the way we perceive ourselves is often too subjective, it's best for others to judge what's amazing about our actions.

But getting out of my box and starting to couchsurf is certainly something positive :-)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm open-minded and enjoy conversations that go beyond talking about the weather.

I value honesty and mutual respect.

What I Can Share with Hosts

-Coffee.
-Perhaps food- I'm not that good of a cook, but we can give it a try :-)
- Stories.
- If I'm hosting you during a weekend, I'd do my best to join you and show you around - for me the social interaction is the essence of Couchsurfing -

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Netherlands, Poland, United Kingdom
