I live in Auenweide, an eco-social housing community near Vienna where we are experimenting with sustainable living, shared spaces and an inclusive way of life. Professionally, I work in research, studying the distant environmental impacts of our lifestyle and particularly of the food system. I enjoy digging into data, but I’m equally passionate about good conversation, nature, human stories and meeting people from other places.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe traveling and hosting are chances to connect across cultures, exchange ideas, and experience very special moments. Living in Auenweide gives me a particular perspective: being part of a community that’s trying to rethink how we live, share and co-operate. I would love to meet travelers who are curious about alternative ways of living, or just want a calm place near Vienna to slow down and chat.
What I Can Share With Hosts
A warm welcome in our community, meaningful conversations about sustainable living and some insights from my work in agricultural modelling. Walks through the community and its open spaces, gardens, orchards, the workshop, the community kitchen, etc. Basically a small tour of how we turned “living together” into a semi-functional art form. A cup of coffee, tea, or a glass of wine and some chats about your travels, your projects, or the state of the world - from everyday life to big topics like the crisis of democracy, solidarity, or how we might still fix things. A bit of “inside” life from our co-housing project. How we make group decisions using sociocracy (surprisingly efficient for something that sounds so idealistic), how we keep rents low despite building with sustainable materials, and how we try to live a low-impact lifestyle.
